my background

I attended Rush Medical College in Chicago, where I worked with underserved populations. I completed my adult psychiatry residency at Tulane, where I served as chief resident in my final year of training and taught classes on therapy and psychopharmacology. My background has led me to develop broad clinical experience in various modalities of therapy, including interpersonal therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and EMDR. Since completing residency, I have received ongoing supervision and completed coursework in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and integrative & holistic psychiatry. I underwent training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center (NOBPC) from 2021 - 2023.

Along with my private practice, I am also an attending psychiatrist at the VA medical center in New Orleans and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Tulane School of Medicine. At the VA, I supervise psychiatry residents in psychotherapy and medication management, and I teach Tulane residency courses on wellness, psychotherapy, and advanced patient care.

In my spare time, I practice yoga and mindfulness meditation, ride my bicycle around the city, and engage in creative pursuits including dance, playing musical instruments, reading avidly, making art, and cooking.  Along with serious dedication and commitment to my work and learning, I believe in cultivating creativity, playfulness, gratitude, and joy in my own life, principles which I share in my work with my patients.
